"Hello Lori, this is Bruce Springsteen."
That's what Lori DeRubbio heard when answering her cell phone one Monday afternoon.
Bruce had been told about Lori, who is a big fan of his music, losing her husband Dave in the World Trade Center attack. He wanted to express his condolences and let her know that he was there to help in any way he could.
Two weeks later they meet face to face after his Holiday concert in Asbury Park.
Lori, along with firemen Mike Mason and Tommy Casatelli from Engine 226, Victoria Brooks from Fallon Advertising who arranged the contact with Springsteen as well as other friends, went to the show as Bruce's personal guest.
After a 3 hour rocking show Lori was escorted backstage and given a big bear hug by The Boss.
