HI my name is Eve Edelheit.

For my bat mitzvah, this Saturday I will be giving a donation to Firehouse 226. My Torah portion - passage from the Hebrew Scripture - Genesis 28 has Jacob dreaming about a ladder that connects heaven and earth. As I was studying the passage I thought after the tragedy on 9/11 I thought that dedicating my event to those who really climb ladders and save lives would be meaningful.

My father, Rabbi Joseph Edelheit has visited the #226 and we will put a picture we just received from Christine Mason whose brother Matthew is a firefighter at the #226. We will read the names of those lost on 9/11 at the end of our service on this Saturday.
